The Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ in black is the line's high-end, fully modular gaming mouse, built for players who want to physically reshape the mouse rather than just reprogram it. It runs a PixArt PMW3389 optical sensor with up to 16,000 DPI, 400 IPS tracking, 50G acceleration and an aggressive 2000Hz (0.5ms) polling rate, well into enthusiast territory. It carries 11 programmable buttons on Omron switches rated for 50 million clicks, stored across 4 on-board memory profiles. What sets the 8+ apart is its physical adjustability: it ships with 2 pairs of swappable palm rests and 2 pairs of pinkie rests, 3 removable weights to tune total heft, and a thumb rest that moves on two axes, so the whole shape and balance of the mouse can be rebuilt around the player's hand and grip style. At its base configuration it weighs 157g (before weights), measures 119 x 88mm, and connects over a 1.8m braided-fibre cable with 16.8-million-colour RGB lighting and customisable effects, running on Windows 7, 8 or 10.
