The Mercusys MS108 is a basic 8-port 10/100 Mbps desktop switch for adding more wired connections to a home, small office or student residence. Plug it into a spare port on your router or fibre/LTE router and you get seven more Ethernet ports for PCs, printers, IP cameras, smart TVs and game consoles, with no setup at all: every port auto-negotiates speed and supports Auto MDI/MDIX, so any standard network cable works. Mercusys rates its switching capacity at 1.6 Gbps, with store-and-forward switching and a 768 Kb buffer. The white plastic case measures just 127 x 60.2 x 22 mm, about the size of a smartphone, and the fanless design runs silently, so it can sit on a desk or behind a TV unnoticed. It runs from a small 5 V / 0.6 A adapter. Note these are Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) ports, so for Gigabit fibre speeds to a PC, a Gigabit switch is the better pick.
