The Mercusys MS116GS is a 16-port Gigabit unmanaged switch that fits on a desk or in a standard 19-inch rack. It suits small offices, schools and homes with a lot of wired devices. All sixteen RJ45 ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX, backed by 32 Gbps of switching capacity and an 8K MAC address table. There is nothing to configure, but it has a few useful extras. The Isolation mode button separates traffic from selected ports to limit snooping and broadcast storms. Loop prevention detects a looped cable and blocks it before it brings the network down. IEEE 802.1p/DSCP QoS gives priority to latency-sensitive traffic such as voice and video.
