The Netix ZA-CAT5OD-305M is a 305-metre drum of black outdoor-grade network cable for runs that leave the building: linking an outbuilding, gate motor area, carport camera or outdoor Wi-Fi access point back to the main router or switch. Esquire describes it as UV-resistant and waterproof, designed to keep working in harsh South African sun and rain where standard grey indoor cable would crack and degrade. It is supplied unterminated on a reel, so you cut each run to length and fit RJ45 plugs or keystone jacks. As a CAT5 cable it is intended for Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) networking and CCTV links; if you need guaranteed gigabit speeds on outdoor runs, consider a CAT5e or CAT6 outdoor cable instead. For best results, run it in conduit where possible and terminate indoors or in weatherproof boxes. Esquire lists no warranty.
