This 100-piece pack of Netix RJ45 rubber boots comes in assorted colours, so you can colour-code network patch leads by department, VLAN, device type or floor. The soft, flexible strain-relief boots slide over crimped RJ45 plugs on CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 cable, protecting the connection from stress where the cable bends, shielding the plug from dust and wear, and giving patch cables a neat, professional finish. Remember the boot has to be threaded onto the cable before the RJ45 connector is crimped on. They are a cheap but useful consumable for network installers, IT departments and DIY home-network builders making up their own cables, and the mixed colours make complicated patch panels much easier to trace.
