Neumann BCM 705 Broadcast Dynamic Microphone, Hypercardioid Directional Characteristic

More Info

The Neumann BCM 705 is a dynamic broadcast microphone built for radio presenters, announcers, podcasters and live streamers. Its moving-coil capsule, marked by the green Neumann badge, is voiced specifically for speech: a gentle presence boost above 2 kHz aids intelligibility while a soft bass roll-off offsets proximity effect, and the hypercardioid pattern keeps room noise and neighbouring sources off air even in rooms with modest sound treatment. The shape is optimised for standard broadcast boom arms, with an elastic mount plus an internal capsule suspension against rumble and an internal foam pop screen; the headgrille twists off for cleaning. Being dynamic, it needs no phantom power and also copes easily with loud sources such as guitar cabinets and brass. It weighs 500 g, measures 64 mm in diameter, 85 mm long and 110 mm high without suspension, and has a 200 ohm rated impedance. This listing is the standard BCM 705 (catalogue 008507).
