The Neumann MC 1 is the high-strings clip for the Neumann Miniature Clip Mic (MCM) system. It attaches the MCM capsule and gooseneck to the body of a violin, viola, mandolin or a similar small string instrument. A self-adjusting spring mechanism with a rubber coating grips the instrument securely without marking or damaging the varnish, and it spans instrument edges from 32 mm to 50 mm. The clip weighs only 16 g, so it adds very little mass to the instrument. It is an accessory only: the MCM capsule, gooseneck and connection cable are not included and are ordered separately to build a complete system. The gooseneck holder rotates and locks in 45-degree steps so the capsule can be aimed accurately, and the clip is finished in black to stay unobtrusive on stage. Typical users are live sound engineers, orchestras, theatre pits, worship teams and studios that want a discreet, repeatable close-miking position that moves with the instrument and keeps the player free to perform.
