The Neumann MC 8 is the magnetic piano holder for the Neumann Miniature Clip Mic (MCM) system. It uses a magnet to attach the MCM capsule and gooseneck to the metal frame inside an upright piano or grand piano, so the microphone can be positioned over the strings or soundboard without clamps, tape or stands and removed again without leaving marks. This makes it practical for live stages, broadcast and worship settings where the lid may be closed or a stand would get in the way. Neumann does not publish a weight or span figure for this holder. It is an accessory only: the MCM capsule, gooseneck and connection cable are not included and are ordered separately to build a complete system. The gooseneck holder rotates and locks in 45-degree steps so the capsule can be aimed accurately, and the clip is finished in black to stay unobtrusive on stage.
