Neumann MCM 114 Set High Strings, Miniature Clip Mic System w/ MC 1

The Neumann MCM 114 Set High Strings is a complete miniature clip-on microphone system from Neumann's Miniature Clip Mic (MCM) range, configured for violin, viola, mandolin and similar high string instruments. At its heart is the KK 14 cardioid capsule, a hand-assembled electret design in a titanium housing with 23 dB-A self-noise and up to 153 dB SPL, so it captures both delicate and very loud playing with the natural, full-bodied Neumann sound. The capsule sits on a SH 100 gooseneck that swivels and locks in 45 degree steps and attaches to the instrument with the MC 1 high-strings clip, designed to hold securely without marking the finish. Signal runs over the 1.8 m AC 31 cable to the MCM 100 output stage, which converts it to a balanced 50 ohm XLR output powered by 48 V phantom power. The system is modular, so capsules, goosenecks, clips and cables can be swapped or replaced individually, and alternative cables connect it to wireless bodypacks. Aimed at live sound engineers, theatre and orchestral work and touring musicians. Catalogue 008707 includes the KK 14 capsule, SH 100 gooseneck, AC 31 cable, WS 110 windscreen, MCM 100 output stage, MC 1 high-strings clip, KC 1 cable brace, softcase and guides.
