The Neumann TLM 102 BK Studio Set (article 008657) combines the black TLM 102 large-diaphragm condenser microphone with Neumann's EA 4 elastic suspension (shock mount). The TLM 102 is Neumann's most affordable large-diaphragm studio microphone, made in Germany, and is aimed at home and project studios, podcasters, streamers and voice-over artists who want genuine Neumann quality. It has a cardioid pattern, a frequency range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz, a sensitivity of 11 mV/Pa and low self-noise of 12 dB-A, and it can handle up to 144 dB SPL, so it works on vocals, speech, acoustic instruments, drums and guitar amplifiers. A slight presence boost helps vocals sit in a mix. The compact body is 52 mm in diameter, 116 mm long and weighs about 210 g. It needs 48 V phantom power (3.5 mA) and connects via 3-pin XLR. The supplied EA 4 shock mount isolates the microphone from stand-borne rumble and handling noise. A pop screen is recommended for close vocals and is sold separately.
