The Neumann TLM 102 bk is the black version of Neumann's most compact and affordable large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone, designed and built in Germany. It uses a genuine Neumann large-diaphragm capsule with a fixed cardioid pattern, a transformerless output stage and an integrated pop screen, giving a clear, focused sound with a gentle lift around 10 kHz for silky highs. Self-noise is only 12 dB-A while it handles up to 144 dB SPL, so it suits vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, brass and saxophone in home, project and professional studios as well as demanding live work. It needs 48 V phantom power and connects via a standard 3-pin XLR. The microphone measures 52 mm in diameter by 116 mm long and weighs about 210 g.
