Neumann TLM 103 Studio Set Nickel Large Diaphragm Microphone, Cardioid, EA 1 Elastic Suspension

The Neumann TLM 103 Studio Set (cat. no. 008545) contains the nickel TLM 103 microphone together with the EA 1 elastic suspension, ready to mount on a standard microphone stand. The TLM 103 is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone whose capsule is derived from the legendary U 87 A. It is a modern studio standard for vocals, voice-over, podcasting, acoustic instruments and guitar amplifiers, valued for its extremely low self-noise of 7 dB-A, consistent cardioid pattern and a broad presence boost that adds definition. Frequency range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, sensitivity 23 mV/Pa, and it handles up to 138 dB SPL, so it copes with loud sources. The transformerless circuit needs 48 V phantom power (3 mA) and connects via XLR 3. The nickel-finish body is 60 mm in diameter, 132 mm long and weighs about 450 g. The supplied EA 1 elastic suspension isolates the microphone from stand-borne vibration. Unlike the Mono Set, the Studio Set does not include the aluminium case, making it the more economical option for a fixed studio.
