The Neumann WS 110 (article 008714) is a soft foam windscreen for Neumann's MCM Miniature Clip Mic system. The MCM is a modular miniature condenser microphone system for close-miking instruments on stage and in the studio - brass, woodwind, strings, drums and piano - built around small interchangeable capsules on flexible goosenecks and instrument-specific clips. The WS 110 slips over the capsule (the MCM's KK 14 cardioid capsule is listed on Neumann's page alongside it) to reduce wind noise, breath noise from players, air movement from stage fans and plosive pops, while also protecting the capsule from moisture and dust. Neumann gives its diameter as 20 mm. It is black, so it stays discreet on an instrument in front of an audience or camera. This SKU includes one WS 110. It is a sensible spare for sound engineers, theatres and touring musicians, since small foam windscreens are easily lost or worn. The MCM microphone itself is sold separately.
