The Neutrik NL8MPRXX is an 8-pole speakON male chassis connector, the panel-mount socket used on loudspeaker cabinets, amplifiers and patch panels for high-current speaker connections. It sits in a robust square G-size housing made from nickel-plated zinc diecast with four countersunk through-holes, and can be mounted from the front or rear of the panel. Contacts are silver-plated copper alloy with 3/16 inch flat tabs for Faston-style termination, rated for 30 A rms continuous per contact at 250 V ac. The Quick Lock mechanism only makes contact once the mating speakON cable connector is fully locked, and Neutrik rates the connector for more than 5,000 mating cycles. The insert is glass-reinforced polyamide (UL 94 V-0), and the working temperature range is -30 to +80 degrees C. The 8-pole layout lets a single cable carry up to four amplifier channels, which is why it is common on multi-way and bi- or tri-amped PA systems. It is IEC 61984 certified, so it is accepted in equipment designed to IEC 62368-1. Note that speakON connectors must not be used for mains or DC power. Optional accessories include the NDL8 dummy plug and SCNLT gasket.
