The Neutrik NLT8MXX-BAG is an 8-pole speakON cable connector (male) from the heavy-duty speakON STXX Series, designed for demanding amplifier-to-loudspeaker connections in professional touring and live sound. It has an extremely robust all-metal housing of black KTL-coated zinc die-cast, a glass-reinforced, UL 94 V-0 polyamide insert and a chuck-type strain relief, and it mates with the complete speakON 8-pole range using Neutrik's precise Quick Lock system. Each contact is rated for 30 A rms continuous (to IEC 61984) at 250 V AC, with silver-plated copper-alloy contacts, and the connector is IEC 61984 certified, so it is accepted as a component of equipment built to IEC 62368-1. Eight poles let a single cable carry up to four separate amplifier channels, which is typical for bi-amped or multi-way loudspeaker systems. Wires are terminated on 1/4-inch flat tabs, accepting conductors from 1.5 to 6 mm² (up to 10 AWG) in a cable of 8 to 20 mm outside diameter, with cable retention of at least 220 N and a life of more than 5,000 mating cycles. It is rated IP50 when mated and for -30 to +80 °C. Note that speakON must not be used for mains power.
