Norton AntiVirus Plus is Norton's entry-level paid protection for a single Windows PC or Mac, sold here as a one-year licence for one device. It provides real-time protection against viruses, malware, spyware and ransomware, a Smart Firewall for PC (Firewall for Mac), a Password Manager for storing logins securely, and 2GB of secure PC cloud backup for important files. Norton's Virus Protection Promise also applies to active subscriptions. It is a sensible upgrade from free antivirus for a home laptop or a student's PC where you only need to cover one computer. It does not include the Secure VPN, parental controls, SafeCam or dark-web monitoring found in the Norton 360 range, so step up to 360 Deluxe if you need those or want to protect phones too. Activation is via a product key and a Norton account, and an internet connection is required to download and update the software.
