The Procab CLV140/3 is a 3 metre dual-link DVI-D video cable with a DVI-D male connector on both ends, from Procab's Classic Series for AV and IT installations. Dual-link DVI doubles the number of TMDS data pairs compared with single-link cables, doubling the video bandwidth so that higher resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz are supported, which suits large professional monitors, projectors and video switching equipment. The cable uses 26 AWG thin, densely stranded oxygen-free copper conductors, triple shielding (two aluminium foils plus a braid) to reject interference, and a flexible PVC jacket with an 11.0 mm outer diameter. The connectors have gold-plated contacts to resist oxidation and keep a reliable connection over years of use. DVI carries video only, so audio and Ethernet channels such as those on HDMI are not supported. The CLV140 range is also available in 1.5, 5 and 10 metre lengths. Typical users are AV integrators, IT departments, broadcast and control rooms and anyone connecting DVI graphics cards to DVI monitors.
