The Procab CLV160/1.5 is a 1.5 m video cable from Procab's Classic Series with a DVI-D male connector at one end and an HDMI Type A male connector at the other. It connects a computer, graphics card, media player or older display with a DVI-D port to an HDMI-equipped monitor, TV or projector, or the other way round, without a separate adapter. DVI-D and HDMI share the same digital video signalling, so the picture passes straight through; Procab rates the CLV160 for high-speed signals at lengths up to 5 m. Note that HDMI-only features such as audio, Audio Return Channel and the Ethernet channel are not carried by DVI, so sound must be connected separately. The cable is built on 24 AWG thin, densely stranded oxygen-free copper conductors with triple shielding, inside a flexible black PVC jacket 8.8 mm in diameter, and uses gold-plated connectors. It suits offices, classrooms, boardrooms, AV installers and rental companies that still run DVI sources alongside modern HDMI displays. The CLV160 range is also available in 3, 5 and 10 m.
