The Procab ALS25/1 is a 100-metre roll of 2-core parallel loudspeaker cable with a 2 x 2.5 mm2 (13 AWG) section, for installers wiring passive speakers in shops, restaurants, bars, churches, schools and offices, and for home cinema and multi-room audio runs. The conductors are copper-clad aluminium (CCA), an aluminium core bonded inside a copper sleeve (about 85 percent aluminium and 15 percent copper). This makes the cable lighter and more affordable than pure copper while still being easy to solder, with a lead resistance of 1.12 Ohm per 100 m. Each conductor is made of 49 strands of 0.25 mm. The flexible PVC jacket measures 3.6 x 7.4 mm and is colour-coded red and black to make polarity easy to follow. The cable is rated for up to 300 V and for -40 to +80 degrees C in fixed installation (-25 to +70 degrees C mobile), with a minimum bending radius of 8 times the diameter when fixed. Procab has replaced this code with the ALS25-ECA (CPR-rated) version.
