Radial Engineering Radial Direct-Drive Guitar amp simulator with 3 amp settings and balanced DI out*

The Radial JDX Direct-Drive (part R800 1404 00) is a guitar amp simulator and direct box in a pedal format, letting a guitarist play a gig or record without an amplifier on stage. Placed at the end of a pedalboard, it provides three voicings: Radial's JDX tone, which simulates a dynamic microphone on a 4x12 cabinet; a setting similar to a British tube head; and a clean twin-combo tone. A balanced XLR output feeds the PA, monitors or a recording interface directly, while a 1/4" output can feed an amplifier or effects so the engineer can blend both. It also has an always-on tuner output, 180-degree polarity reverse, ground lift and bright/presence voicing options. It uses a Class-A BiFET input buffer with electronic frequency shaping and runs on a 9 V DC supply (40 mA, centre pin negative). The 14-gauge steel chassis measures 121 x 92 x 51 mm and ships at about 0.7 kg.
