The Radial ProAV2 (part R800 1115 00) is a two-channel passive multimedia direct box, built for AV integrators, live sound engineers and technicians who need to connect laptops, media players, phones and other consumer playback devices to a professional PA system or mixing console. It works in true stereo (dual mono), and each side accepts a 1/4-inch jack or RCA input, with a shared 3.5 mm TRS stereo input for laptops and phones, so you seldom need adaptor cables. The signal passes through two Eclipse ET-DB2 transformers (12:1), which isolate the source and eliminate the hum and buzz caused by ground loops, and converts it to balanced mic-level XLR outputs suitable for long cable runs or a multicore snake. A -15 dB pad handles hot sources and a ground lift switch helps with stubborn noise. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 18.5 kHz (±0.2 dB), dynamic range 128 dB and distortion 0.01%. Housed in a 14-gauge steel chassis with a book-end shell that protects the connectors and switches, it measures 3.25 x 5 x 1.875 inches and weighs 0.82 kg. No power is required.
