The Radial PZ-Pre (part R800 7085 00) is a two-channel acoustic instrument preamplifier and DI in a floor-pedal chassis, for guitarists, double bassists, violinists and other players using piezo or other pickups. Two inputs let a player switch between two instruments, such as a 6-string and a 12-string, or blend two pickup systems. Radial's discrete class-A PZB piezo boosters and an ultra-quiet preamp adapt to almost any pickup, while a semi-parametric EQ with notch and resonance filters tames feedback on loud stages. A built-in Radial DI provides balanced XLR outputs both before and after the EQ, so the front-of-house engineer can take a dry signal while the monitors get the player's tailored sound. There is also a footswitched power boost, a mute for silent tuning, an effects loop, a tuner output and an amp output, along with 180-degree polarity reverse and ground lift. The 14-gauge steel chassis measures 205 x 110 x 51 mm and weighs 1.2 kg. A 15 V DC power supply is included, and Radial provides a three-year transferable warranty.
