In use, the system holds a steady heading automatically on the kicker motor, freeing the angler or operator from constantly hand-steering while trolling, and it includes a floating handheld remote with a sunlight-readable display so heading and throttle-hold settings can be fine-tuned from anywhere in the cockpit rather than at a fixed helm station. It can run as a self-contained system with just the remote, or be integrated with an optional GHC 50 autopilot controller, a compatible Garmin chartplotter, or any NMEA 2000-network GPS source to add a dedicated touchscreen autopilot display at the helm and share heading data across the rest of the boat's electronics.
