The SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 64GB (model SDCZ48-064G-U46) is a compact, everyday flash drive for moving documents, photos, music and video between PCs, laptops and other devices with a USB-A port. It uses a USB 3.0 interface and stays backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports, so it works in older school and office machines as well as newer laptops. SanDisk currently rates the Ultra USB 3.0 range at up to 130MB/s read; real-world speed depends on capacity, the host port and the file mix, and write speeds are lower. The black plastic body has a sliding connector that retracts into the housing, so there is no cap to lose, plus a keyring loop for carrying it on your keys or a lanyard. It measures about 69 x 22 x 10mm and weighs roughly 8.5g. SanDisk includes its SecureAccess software for creating a password-protected private vault on the drive, and lists a 5-year limited warranty on its website. A sensible 64GB drive for students, home users and office backups in South Africa.
