The Schill SK 450.RM is a professional empty cable drum from Schill's Stage Line series, made in Germany, for storing, transporting and deploying long runs of audio, video, data, multicore or power cable in live sound, touring, broadcast and rental work. It is a special rubber drum mounted in a stackable tubular steel frame, so several loaded drums can be stacked safely in a truck or store room. The RM version adds an auxiliary spool (the 'core entry' on the side face) with a 60 mm core entry: the connector end or a short tail of the cable passes through the drum side and is stowed on the auxiliary spool, secured with the supplied Velcro strap, so the cable can be used while still partly wound on the drum. A folding winding handle is fitted to the drum face. Schill lists the drum at 445 mm high and 177 mm wide with a 295 mm core dimension, and supplies configurations for cable diameters from 1 mm to 30 mm; actual capacity depends on the cable used. The drum is supplied empty - cable is not included.
