The Sennheiser Boom Arm is the desk-mounted microphone arm from the Profile USB microphone accessory range, used by streamers, podcasters, voice-over artists and home-studio owners to hold a microphone above the desk and out of camera shot. It clamps to the edge of a table, swings and extends to place the microphone where it is needed, and folds away when not in use, freeing up desk space compared with a table stand. Sennheiser rates it to carry up to 500 g, and lists suitable microphones including the Sennheiser Profile, Neumann MK 4 and MK 8, TLM 102 and TLM 103, and the Sennheiser MD 421. A shock mount adds weight, so heavier combinations should not be run at full extension. The arm weighs about 1.13 kg and its packed length is around 660 mm. It is sold on its own; the Profile microphone is available separately or as the Profile Streaming Set, which bundles the two.
