The Sennheiser CA 2 (article 009986) is a camera mounting adapter that lets you fix a Sennheiser evolution wireless bodypack receiver onto a video camera's accessory shoe. Sennheiser lists it for the EK 100 G3 and EK 2000 camera receivers, and the supplier lists it for the EK 100 and EK 500. The black plate clips to the receiver's belt-clip side, and a shoe foot underneath slides into the camera's cold shoe, with a threaded socket for alternative mounting. Mounting the receiver on the camera keeps the wireless link, cable and camera together as one unit, which is how ENG crews, videographers and documentary shooters typically run lavalier or handheld wireless microphones into a camcorder or DSLR. The adapter weighs only about 25 g, so it adds little to a camera rig. Combine it with a line output cable such as the CL 1-N to feed the receiver's audio into the camera input. The receiver and cables are not included. Sennheiser covers it with a two-year warranty.
