The Sennheiser CL 1 PP (article 507425) is a 1 m antenna cable with a reverse SMA plug on both ends, part of Sennheiser's SpeechLine Digital Wireless range. It is used to connect antennas such as the AWM 4 to the SL Rack Receiver DW, or to link the receiver to other RF accessories, where the antennas need to be positioned away from the receiver for better line-of-sight to the transmitters. Keeping antenna runs short matters in wireless systems because cable loss reduces the received signal; Sennheiser specifies an attenuation of only 0.5 dB for this 1 m length, compared with 2.5 dB for the 5 m CL 5 PP and more for the 10 m and 20 m versions. Typical users are corporate meeting rooms, lecture theatres and houses of worship installing SpeechLine Digital Wireless presentation microphones, where antennas are mounted on a wall, ceiling or rack front. The cable is black and weighs about 64 g. Note that reverse SMA (RP-SMA) connectors are not the same as the BNC connectors used by evolution wireless systems.
