The Sennheiser e 845-S is a dynamic supercardioid handheld vocal microphone from the evolution 800 series, fitted with a silent on/off switch. It is aimed at lead and backing vocalists, presenters, choirs, rehearsal rooms and conference or house-of-worship use, where the tight supercardioid pickup reduces spill from monitors and nearby instruments and gives good gain before feedback. It has an extended high-frequency response with a presence lift for clarity and a high output level so the voice sits forward in a loud mix. The full-metal housing and internal shock mounting keep handling noise low, and a hum-compensating coil reduces interference. Frequency response is 40 to 16,000 Hz, sensitivity 1.8 mV/Pa and nominal impedance 350 ohms, with a standard 3-pin XLR connector.
