Sennheiser E 914 Condenser Cardioid Instrument Microphone

The Sennheiser e 914 (article 500206) is a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone for stage and studio, built for cymbals, drum overheads, acoustic guitar, strings, percussion and grand piano. Sennheiser describes it as having exceptionally detailed resolution, a lively, full-bodied sound, a silky treble and very good transient response, with excellent directivity across the frequency range. A three-position bass roll-off switch cuts low-frequency rumble and wind noise or compensates for proximity effect when close-miking, and a three-position sensitivity switch (pre-attenuation) lets it handle very high sound pressure levels. It has a rugged metal body for touring and an exchangeable capsule design. Specifications are 20 Hz to 20 kHz response, 7.0 mV/Pa sensitivity (2.3 and 0.7 mV/Pa with attenuation), 19 dB(A) equivalent noise, 100 ohm impedance and 48 V phantom power via a 3-pin XLR. It measures 24 x 157 mm and weighs 198 g. It is assembled in Europe and carries a two-year Sennheiser warranty.
