The Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4-BW (article 509540) is a professional camera-mount wireless set from the Evolution Wireless G4 series, built for film and broadcast crews who want to put a boom or handheld XLR microphone on air without a cable. It pairs the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter, which fits directly onto a microphone's XLR connector and can supply 48 V phantom power to condenser mics, with the compact EK 500 G4 camera receiver. This BW version covers 626 - 698 MHz with up to 88 MHz bandwidth and up to 32 compatible channels, and the transmitter RF output is switchable between 10, 30 and 50 mW for a range of up to about 100 m. Transmitter and receiver sync over infrared. The receiver uses adaptive diversity and outputs via a 3.5 mm jack at up to +17 dBu, with 80 - 18,000 Hz frequency response and a line signal-to-noise ratio of at least 110 dBA. Units run on AA batteries (included) for typically 8 hours. The receiver measures approximately 82 x 64 x 24 mm and weighs about 130 g. Confirm that 626 - 698 MHz is licensable where you will be filming.
