The Sennheiser EW-DP SKP (S1-7, article 700083) is a digital UHF plug-on transmitter for the Evolution Wireless Digital portable (EW-DP) system. It plugs onto the XLR output of a dynamic or condenser microphone - a shotgun, handheld interview mic or boom mic - and turns it into a wireless source, supplying +48 V phantom power where needed. A 3.5 mm input also accepts a lavalier, and a microSD card slot allows a backup recording in the transmitter. It is intended for filmmakers, broadcasters and videographers working with EW-DP receivers such as the EW-DP EK. The S1-7 frequency range covers 606.2 to 662 MHz. Sennheiser specifies 1.9 ms latency, 20 Hz to 20 kHz response, 134 dB dynamic range and a 10 mW audio-link transmission power, with Bluetooth Low Energy for set-up from the Smart Assist app. It runs on two AA batteries or Sennheiser's BA 70 rechargeable pack, and weighs about 163 g.
