The Sennheiser MD 441-U (article 000762) is a classic dynamic microphone with a super-cardioid pickup pattern, widely regarded as one of the most accurate and versatile dynamics available and often described as delivering condenser-like detail. It is used for lead vocals, speech and broadcast, and for miking almost any instrument, from guitar cabinets and brass to drums, in studios and on stage. The near textbook super-cardioid pattern gives excellent feedback rejection, and a spring-mounted, critically damped capsule suspension keeps handling noise low. A hum-compensating coil reduces pickup of electromagnetic interference. The sound can be tailored with a five-position bass roll-off switch and a two-position brilliance (treble boost) switch, and an integral pop filter is built in.
