The Sennheiser MKE 1-4-3 (article 502168) is the beige, 3-pin LEMO-terminated version of the MKE 1, Sennheiser's smallest professional clip-on lavalier microphone. The beige finish blends with skin tones, so it is the usual choice for theatre and television where the capsule is taped to the face, hairline or neck. Its 3.3 mm capsule makes it virtually invisible on a presenter, actor or singer, while a newly developed moisture-resistant protective membrane, protective gauze and multi-purpose cap help it survive sweat and make-up in harsh live conditions. Sennheiser rates it at a maximum sound pressure level of 142 dB, with an omnidirectional pick-up pattern, 20 Hz to 20 kHz response and very high speech intelligibility. The ultra-thin 1 mm, heavy-duty cable has a moulded anti-kink sleeve to keep handling noise down, and flexible tubes allow the mic to be fixed with clips or adhesive tape. The 3-pin LEMO plug suits Sennheiser bodypack transmitters with a LEMO input. Cable length for the -4 versions is 1.6 m. Sennheiser covers the microphone with a two-year warranty.
