The Sennheiser MKE 1-4 (article 502167) is the black, 3-pin LEMO-terminated version of the MKE 1, Sennheiser's smallest professional clip-on lavalier microphone. It is designed for musicals, theatre, live shows and broadcast work where a microphone has to disappear on the talent yet still deliver full, natural sound. Its 3.3 mm capsule makes it virtually invisible on a presenter, actor or singer, while a newly developed moisture-resistant protective membrane, protective gauze and multi-purpose cap help it survive sweat and make-up in harsh live conditions. Sennheiser rates it at a maximum sound pressure level of 142 dB, with an omnidirectional pick-up pattern, 20 Hz to 20 kHz response and very high speech intelligibility. The ultra-thin 1 mm, heavy-duty cable has a moulded anti-kink sleeve to keep handling noise down, and flexible tubes allow the mic to be fixed with clips or adhesive tape. The 3-pin LEMO plug suits Sennheiser bodypack transmitters with a LEMO input. Cable length for the -4 versions is 1.6 m. Sennheiser covers the microphone with a two-year warranty.
