The Sennheiser MMD 42-1 (article 506772) is an interchangeable dynamic omnidirectional microphone head for Sennheiser wireless handheld transmitters. It brings the character of the MD 42 reporter's microphone to a wireless handheld: the omni pattern gives excellent speech intelligibility without having to point the microphone directly at an interview partner, and the design minimises wind and handling noise, which makes it a natural choice for wireless interviews, presentations and ENG work. The head screws onto the transmitter in place of the existing capsule, so one handheld can be switched between vocal and interview duties. Sennheiser specifies a sensitivity of 1.8 mV/Pa (+/- 2.5 dB), and it has no on/off switch of its own. The head is 50.5 mm in diameter and 72.3 mm long. Check that your handheld uses Sennheiser's standard capsule thread before ordering.
