The Sennheiser MZC 30 B (article 005088) is a 9 m connecting cable for the SpeechLine ME series miniature microphone capsules - the ME 34, ME 35 and ME 36. Rather than mounting the capsule on a gooseneck, the MZC 30 lets an installer run an ultra-thin cable (about 1 mm diameter) from the capsule to the audio system, which is useful for hanging or ceiling-suspended choir and stage miking, discreet installation in architectural features, or anywhere a gooseneck would be too visible. At the capsule end it has a special coaxial socket that the ME head screws into; at the other end is a balanced, floating XLR-3M connector housing that allows the capsule to be powered from 12 to 48 V phantom power supplied by a mixer or preamp. The finish is black. The capsule is not included. Weight is about 119 g including the connector, making it easy to route and conceal.
