The Sennheiser MZH 3040 (article 005076) is a 400 mm metal gooseneck from the SpeechLine / ME 30 installation range, finished in matt black. It is the connecting piece between a Sennheiser ME 34, ME 35 or ME 36 miniature condenser capsule (sold separately) and a mixer or conferencing system, and is typically used on lecterns, podiums, conference tables, courtrooms and council chambers where a slim, unobtrusive speech microphone is needed. The gooseneck has one flexible section so the capsule can be positioned close to the talker's mouth, and it ends in a balanced, floating XLR-3 output that lets the capsule be powered by 12 to 48 V phantom power from the desk or amplifier. RF shielding protects against intermodulation from nearby wireless equipment and mobile phones. It weighs about 120 g. For a mounting solution, pair it with a suitable XLR table flange or shock-mount; the capsule itself is not included.
