The Sennheiser MZH 600 is a fur windshield, often called a blimp, for the Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone. It combines a foam windshield with a hairy outer cover in one piece, which Sennheiser describes as the most effective way to reduce wind noise when recording outdoors. It is intended for outside broadcast, documentary and film location sound, event videography and field recording, where a bare shotgun microphone would be overwhelmed by wind rumble even in a light breeze. The windshield slides over the microphone body and can stay fitted while the microphone is mounted on a camera, boom pole or shock mount. The cover is grey. Sennheiser lists its dimensions as roughly 180 mm long, 72.5 mm wide and 71 mm high.
