The Sennheiser MZT 30 (article 005085) is a flush-mount table installation socket with an XLR-3 connector, used to build a permanent microphone point into a lectern, conference table, courtroom bench or council chamber desk. Installed through a hole in the furniture surface, it gives a neat, low-profile XLR-3 socket into which a Sennheiser MZH gooseneck (or another XLR-terminated gooseneck microphone) can be plugged, while the cabling runs hidden underneath to the mixer or conference system. This keeps desks tidy, stops cables being pulled, and lets goosenecks be removed and stored when the room is used for something else. The black flange sits almost flush with the table top and the socket locks the gooseneck in place. Sennheiser lists dimensions of 93 x 41 x 42 mm and a weight of about 50 g. One MZT 30 socket is supplied; goosenecks, microphone capsules and cabling are sold separately. It is a common part in boardroom, education and church installations using Sennheiser MEG/MZH gooseneck microphones, and carries a two-year warranty.
