The Sennheiser MZW 02 (article 578806) is a small replacement foam windshield in anthracite for Sennheiser's miniature lavalier and headworn microphones. Sennheiser lists it as compatible with the ME 2, MKE 2, MKE 1, HS 2 and HSP 2, and retailers also list it for the MZ 1 and the Ear Set 1 range. The foam slips over the capsule to reduce wind noise, breath noise and plosives, and it also helps keep sweat, make-up and dust off the capsule, which is why presenters, theatre sound teams, fitness instructors and videographers keep spares in their kits. The anthracite colour (Sennheiser gives it as HEX #393D47) is a dark grey that is discreet against dark clothing and hair; Sennheiser also offers the MZW 02 in other colours for matching skin tones or light clothing. Foam windshields wear out and get lost regularly on lavalier and headset microphones, so replacing them is routine maintenance for any wireless microphone system. The microphone itself is not included. Sennheiser lists a 2-year warranty.
