The Sennheiser MZW 600 (article 505569) is the foam windshield for the Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone. Sennheiser rates it as reducing wind noise by around 25 dB, which makes the difference between a usable and an unusable recording when filming outdoors in a light breeze, walking with the camera, or working near fans and air-conditioning vents. It slides over the front of the microphone's interference tube and also cuts breath pops and handling rumble. An MZW 600 is supplied with every MKE 600, so this listing is for a replacement or spare - foam windshields get lost, torn or dirty on location and are worth carrying as a backup. For strong wind Sennheiser offers a separate fur windshield. Sennheiser lists the packed product at 141 x 73 x 64 mm. Users include videographers, documentary and wedding filmmakers, vloggers and ENG crews mounting the MKE 600 on cameras or boom poles.
