The Sennheiser XS 1 (article 507487) is a wired dynamic vocal microphone with a cardioid pick-up pattern, aimed at singers, presenters, worship leaders, MCs and anyone putting together a first live sound setup. Sennheiser designed it for simplicity and upfront vocal presence in the mix, with good feedback rejection so it can be used close to monitor speakers. The capsule is shock-mounted to keep handling noise down, and a silent on/off mute switch on the handle gives the user or sound engineer control without an audible click. The body is an all-metal housing for durability on stage, measuring 48 mm in diameter and 180 mm long and weighing about 294 g. It connects through a standard 3-pin XLR output to a mixer, PA or audio interface, has a nominal impedance of 300 ohm and a sensitivity of 1.8 mV/Pa. In the box Sennheiser supplies the microphone, a microphone clamp for a stand, a transport bag and a quick guide; an XLR cable is not listed as included. It carries Sennheiser's two-year warranty.
