The Sennheiser XS Lav Mobile (article 509260) is an omnidirectional clip-on lavalier microphone for recording speech straight into a smartphone, tablet or computer. It is aimed at content creators, mobile journalists, podcasters, teachers and small businesses who want clearer dialogue for interviews, vlogs, voice-overs and video calls than a device's built-in microphone can capture. The pre-polarised condenser capsule has an omnidirectional pattern, which gives a natural sound and makes placement on a collar or lapel forgiving. It is permanently attached to a 2 m (6.6 ft) cable ending in a 3.5 mm TRRS connector, the four-pole plug used by most phones and laptops with a combined headset socket; devices with only USB-C or Lightning need a suitable adapter, or the separate XS Lav USB-C version. Sennheiser specifies a 50 to 18,000 Hz frequency response and a 32 dB equivalent noise level, and the microphone weighs only about 19 g. The box includes a removable foam windscreen and a drawstring storage pouch. It carries Sennheiser's two-year warranty.
