The Sennheiser XS Lav USB-C is an omnidirectional clip-on lavalier microphone that plugs straight into the USB-C port of a smartphone, tablet or computer, with no separate interface or adapter needed. It is aimed at content creators, journalists, teachers and remote workers who want clearer dialogue than a built-in device microphone for interviews, vlogs, podcasts, online lessons and voice-overs. The pre-polarised condenser capsule has an omnidirectional pickup pattern, so placement on a collar or lapel is forgiving, and it handles up to 110 dB SPL. Audio frequency response is 70 to 18,000 Hz with sampling rates of 8, 16, 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz. The fixed cable is 2 m long. In the box Sennheiser includes a mic clip, a removable foam windscreen and a drawstring storage pouch. A Mobile Kit version with a mini tripod and smartphone clamp is sold separately.
