Sommer Cable Instrument Cable Tricone MKII; 1 x 0,22 sq. mm; PVC 5,90 mm; black

Sommer Cable Tricone MKII (article 300-0021) is an unbalanced instrument cable with a single 0.22 mm² conductor, sold by the metre from bulk. It is intended for guitar and keyboard leads for gigging musicians, studio keyboard players and home recording, and also works as an economical line-in or patch cable. The core is 28 fine tin-plated copper strands (AWG 24) in foamed skin PE insulation, which Sommer says makes it resistant to breakage with a high number of bending cycles. It is screened twice, by a helical copper mesh and a conductive carbon layer, for 100 % coverage and low handling noise, under a robust 5.9 mm black PVC jacket that is easy to coil. When fitting jack plugs, the conductive black layer on the insulation must be stripped back so it does not touch the inner conductor. Capacitance to the screen is 85 pF/m and conductor resistance 91.3 ohm per km. It weighs about 42 g per metre and is rated from -25 to +80 °C.
