Sommer Cable Stage 22 Highflex (article 200-0001) is a balanced microphone cable with two 0.22 mm² conductors, sold by the metre from bulk. It is Sommer's economical all-rounder for stage, home recording, rental and PA installation, used to build microphone and line leads with XLR or jack connectors. The conductors are made of 28 very fine 0.10 mm oxygen-free copper strands (AWG 24) in foam PE insulation, which gives low capacitance and a high number of bending cycles, and the helical screen of bare copper wires has a 100 % optical coverage rather than the usual 85 %. A thick, soft black PVC jacket protects the inner structure from pulling, tearing and kinking and makes the cable easy to coil. Electrically it offers 70 pF/m between conductors and 130 pF/m to the shield, with a 100 ohm impedance. It weighs about 50.8 g per metre, is UV resistant and is rated from -25 to +80 °C.
