Sommer Cable SC-Onyx 2008 (article 320-0061) is a twin (figure-eight) unbalanced patch and instrument cable, two individually screened 0.08 mm² cores joined side by side, sold by the metre from bulk. It is similar in design and quality to Sommer's Tricone MKII but thinner, and is intended for hi-fi interconnects, stereo RCA and jack leads, Y-adapters and insert cables and for the unbalanced outputs of keyboards, as well as permanent installation. The two halves can be separated by hand at the centre, each having its own 10-strand 0.08 mm² (AWG 28) oxygen-free copper conductor in PE-HD insulation (marked white and yellow), a helical copper screen with 90 % coverage and a thick black PVC jacket. The overall profile is 5.9 x 2.6 mm, small enough for mini jack and RCA connectors. Capacitance to the screen is 120 pF/m and conductor resistance 220 ohm per km. It weighs about 27 g per metre and is rated from -20 to +70 °C.
