Sommer Cable SC-Classic Series MKII (article 600-0451) is an RG59 B/U type 75-ohm coaxial cable, sold by the metre from bulk. Sommer's RG range is built to the American MIL-C-17 standard, and this cable is used for analogue and digital video, CCTV and antenna feeds, broadcast and studio wiring, data transmission and general high-frequency work in fixed installations. It has a solid 0.60 mm (0.28 mm², AWG 23) oxygen-free copper centre conductor in 3.7 mm PE insulation, a copper braid screen with 92 % coverage and a black PVC jacket of 6.2 mm diameter, with an age-resistant jacket that Sommer says gives a very long service life. The velocity factor is 0.66 and capacitance 67 pF/m. Attenuation per 100 m is 11.1 dB at 100 MHz, 16.8 dB at 200 MHz, 25.1 dB at 470 MHz and 36.4 dB at 862 MHz. It weighs about 48.5 g per metre, is UV resistant and is rated from -20 to +80 °C. It suits standard RG59 BNC and F connectors.
