Sommer Cable Elephant Robust SPM440 (article 490-0051-440) is a heavy-duty four-core loudspeaker cable with 4 x 4.0 mm² (AWG 11) oxygen-free copper conductors in a black 11 mm PVC jacket. Sommer reworked the jacket of its Elephant 4 mm² series for tough stage use: it is flexible, robust, tread-resistant, easy to reel and reusable, with a smooth surface that is easy to clean, and has high UV resistance. The outer diameter is matched to common multi-pin speaker connectors such as the CA-COM 8-pole, NL8 (8-pole speaker connectors), LKS19 and EP5, so it can be assembled into four-channel speaker looms with relatively little effort. Each conductor is made of 224 fine copper strands with 3.75 mm insulation, the conductor resistance is 4.9 ohm per km, and the cable weighs about 239 g per metre. It is suited to professional PA systems, touring and rental, installations, 100 V line systems, mobile indoor/outdoor use and studios, and is rated from -25 to +80 degrees C.
